The Raffles Spa & Retreat is a 250,000 square foot wellness complex including a new 100 key hotel, a renovated historic spa and restaurant building, and outdoor treatments and gardens set amidst a tropical hillside on Sentosa Island, Singapore.
The existing heritage building facade and structure has been preserved. The historic red clay tile roof has been opened up to a new retractable skylights over the reception and indoor vitality pool, filtering light throughout the locker rooms and lounges. All treatment rooms extend out to a private terrace garden and outdoor tub.
The program combines immersive hammam treatments with outdoor Japanese onsen pool circuits immersed in the jungle landscape.
Working with Singapore-based developers Royal Group and Raffles Resorts, Volume One is responsible for the master-planning, architecture, landscape concept and interior design.
